Driver’s luck runs out in Luckington!

In the last month, several drivers found themselves in deep water in the town of Luckington. A river goes through the village. A bridge across it was closed for repairs recently and many drivers followed their GPS directions straight into the river! Normally, the water at this point is about 60 centimeters deep and cars can drive safely across. Many years ago, before there was a bridge over the river, this was how people got form one side to the other. However, when it rains, the water can quickly become twice as deep.
There are warning signs, but many drivers don’t read them – their GPS devices tell them to keep going, so they do! The people of Luckington are now charging drivers to help them get their cars out of the river.
